不到一千个座位的大厅里，只有四成的听众。

对于艺术这类风花雪月的玩艺，本地人大多不大热心。

他们活得非常实际，早晚谈论的无非是吃、穿、住、行和如何赚钱。

他们都很勤奋，努力去学习一切谋生、发达的技能。

来tostmsters的那些人多是抱了非常功利的目的，林心club里的不少会员是卖保险和做传销的。

林心公司里的同事很愿意和她说华语，不过他们的华语程度十分有限，基本上只有主、谓、宾，没有定、状、补，稍微深入点的话题，就得说英文。

而他们的英文又常常在马来话、福建、广东等方言之间串来串去，常常弄得林心一头雾水。

和pul在一起的时候，也有这个烦恼。

两人一起去喝酒、烧烤、出海、潜水、开车去新山都很开心，但是两人的谈话永远是浅尝辄止。

开始的新鲜劲儿一过，林心慢慢地觉出了小地方和小地方的人的乏味。

邵强终于看完了节目单，侧过头来看着她。

林心被他看得有点不好意思，摸着自己的脸笑着说：“看什幺？我脸上有节目表？”邵强低声说：“你很会挑耳环。

每一副都好看！”

这时剧场的灯光暗下来。

在一束追光里，安宁穿了黑色的燕尾服在那里弹肖邦，林心虽然不太懂古典音乐，但是还是被那华丽的演绎感动了。

这个世界上真是有天才的！可是放眼望去，满街上走的大多还是小心翼翼过日子的平常人。

她自认不是个贪心的人。

她要的不过是一份舒服的生活：有个足够爱她的老公，有足够用的钱，足够大的房子，足够好的车，每年去国外旅行一次。

她偷眼看看身边的邵强，他半闭着眼睛，好像是沉浸到一个遥远的世界里去了。

音乐会的最后，静静的剧场里除了安宁的音乐，又出现了一个新的声音：一个睡着了的中年男人，响亮地打起鼾来。

他就坐在林心和邵强的身后。

人们都开始向这边看。

林心直担心台上的安宁会一气之下，拂袖而去。

邵强回过身，轻轻把那人拍醒。

音乐会散了之后，林心对邵强说：“今天多亏了你！不然安宁要被气跑了。

”

邵强笑笑说：“这里的人就这素质。

不过在任何人群里，精英都是少数。

”
